This is a classic water jar by Eric Lewis.  It has a round shoulder and an elongated neck. The jar is fully painted with designs.  This jar has an eagle in flight painted using the negative space of the jar.  The remainder of the jar has swirling cloud patterns and angular tree designs. The strong graphics on Eric’s pottery give them a modernist appearance. However, look closer and you can see a variety of traditional designs that he has used for the designs that are all based on traditional Acoma patterns. The jar is signed on the bottom, “Eric Lewis 2022″.
