Diane Lewis-Garcia is known for her tightly painted miniature pottery.  This is an intricately designed seedpot that is painted with bee-weed (black) and clay slips.  There is a rainbow in the center.  Above the rainbow is a female flute player, quail, and flowers.  Below the rainbow is a colorful peacock.  The colors are all derived from native clays and add to the impact of the design.  It is signed on the bottom, “D. Lewis-Garcia”.

Diane Lewis is a daughter of Kathleen Lewis and a sister of noted potters Rebecca Lucario, Marilyn Ray, Judy Lewis, and Carolyn Concho. She is known for her miniature pottery and the use of traditional and Mimbres imagery. She has won numerous awards at the Heard Museum Market and Gallup Ceremonials.
