Mary Lewis was a daughter of noted potter Lucy M. Lewis.  She was never as prolific as her sisters Emma, Dolores, and Carmel. The is a figurative clay lizard. The lizard is made from native clay and painted on the back with red and black lines.  It was traditionally fired. It is signed on the back, “Mary D. Lewis”.  It is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, restoration, or repair.
