Mary Lewis was a daughter of noted potter Lucy M. Lewis. She was never as prolific as her sisters Emma, Dolores, and Carmel. This small pitcher is thin walled and has a braided clay handle. Th piece is tightly painted with interlocking Acoma birds. The handle is painted with red clay. It is signed on the bottom, “Mary Lewis”. It is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, restoration, or repair.
