Mary Lewis was a daughter of noted potter Lucy M. Lewis.  She was never as prolific as her sisters Emma, Dolores, and Carmel. The plate has a single large Acoma style bird with red painted and polished wings.  It is tightly painted and fills up the space of the plate.  It is signed on the back, “Mary D. Lewis”.  It is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, restoration, or repair.
