$ 150.00

Nancy Lewis was a Hopi potter from the First Mesa village Sichomovi. She was actively making pottery between 1960-1980. Her pottery is in the collection of the Museum of Northern Arizona. This open bowl is slipped with white clay.  It is painted with bee-weed and a red clay slip. The bowl is oval in shape and has a bird tail and bird wing design painted in the center.  The piece was traditionally fired so there are slight blushes on the surface.  It is in very good condition with no chips, cracks, restoration, or repair.  It is signed on the bottom, “Nancy Lewis”.
