Lonewolf, Greg – “Two Rainbow Trout” Seedpot (1990s)

1.5"w x 1.5"h

$ 700.00

Greg Lonewolf is the son of Joseph Lonewolf and is known for his intricately incised miniatures.  This seedpot is larger and one of his more detailed pieces. There are two realistic rainbow trout on the piece.  He etched the water splashing above the fish with four tiny dragonflies.  On the side, there is a Mimbres-inspired bird (with a long neck!) catching a fish.  There are three tiny polished medallions with a butterfly, bee, and ladybug.  The bottom has rounded “sand” etched into the clay.  There is a lot of detail for the size and lots of coloration!  The piece is highly polished red and the designs were etched into the clay.  All the colors are from natural clay slips.  It is signed on the bottom in the clay, “Greg Lonewolf”.  It is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, restoration, or repair.
