Beginning in the early 1970s, Joseph Lonewolf revolutionized the world of Santa Clara pottery by incorporating his sgraffito (lightly etching the surface of the clay) and incised (more deeply cut into the clay) designs.  In 1975, in conjunction with the publication of his book, “The Pottery Jewels of Joseph Lonewolf”, Joseph created three versions of the “Lone Wolf’ sculpture.  One series was bronze, one series was silver the third was gold plated silver.  The edition size of each group was different.  This is one of the silver castings.  It is #2 in the edition of 75.  It is cast from silver and the base is wood.  It is in excellent condition.
