Lonewolf, Rosemary “Apple Blossom” – Large Seedpot with Mimbres Figures and World Scene
This is an exceptional large seedpot by Rosemary Lonewolf. The piece is coil-built in a sharp shoulder shape. The entire surface is fully polished. The top has 16 figures etched into the clay in a Mimbres style. They are meant to represent all the people of the world. In the center is the globe with North American showing. On the opposite side, there are scenes from Russia (St. Basil’s Cathedral), Japan, Australia, Paris, London, and New York. Rosemary made this piece when she was traveling and reflecting on the world around her. The designs are highlighted with blue, white, and green clay slips. The seedpot is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, restoration, or repair. It is signed on the bottom, “Apple Blossom”. Definitely an important piece from the Lonewolf family!
