Lonewolf, Rosemary “Apple Blossom” – Seedpot with Mulit-Color Mimbres Lizard

1.25"w x 1"h

$ 500.00

This is a classic multi-color seedpot by Rosemary Lonewolf.  She learned to make pottery from her father, Joseph Lonewolf.  This piece is fully polished and it has a sharp point at the top. There is a Mimbres style lizard etched into the clay.  As the piece is turned, there is a little Mimbres bee that just got away!  The lizard is highlighted with green and blue clays. Note in the background area how there are lots of tiny circles.  Rosemary said that it was very time consuming to make all the little circles!  All the various colors are different clay slips. which are added after the firing.  The seedpot is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, restoration or repair.  It is signed on the bottom in the clay, “Apple Blossom”.  While Rosemary no longer makes many traditional-style pieces of pottery, her miniatures remain a classic!
