Lonewolf, Rosemary “Apple Blossom” – Seedpot with Mulit-Color Turtle

This is a classic multi-color seedpot by Rosemary Lonewolf.  She learned to make pottery from her father, Joseph Lonewolf.  This piece is fully polished and it has a sharp point at the top. There is a turtle on the top.  Check out the detailed checkerboard pattern for the top of the shell! Note in the background area how there are lots of tiny circles.  Rosemary said that it was very time consuming to make all the little circles!  Near the base are waves.  All the various colors are different clay slips. which are added after the firing.  The seedpot is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, restoration or repair.  It is signed on the bottom in the clay, “AB”.  While Rosemary no longer makes many traditional-style pieces of pottery, her miniatures remain a classic!
