Loretto, Mary – Seedpot with Sun Design

Mary Loretto (b. 1955) is a daughter of Cecilia Loretto and a sister of Caroline Loretto and Geraldine Sandia.  She learned to make pottery from her mother, Cecilia.  This seedpot is coil-built and stone-polished red.  The top is painted with a sun face design. The sun is painted tan and black on a polished surface.  There is a cloud motif around the bottom edge.  The seedpot is signed on the bottom, “Mary H. Loretto”.  It is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, restoration, or repair.
