Rebecca Lucario is known for her delicate and intricately painted pottery.  This is a large triple-lobe canteen.  This form was made famous by Juana Leno when it was featured in National Geographic.  It is a difficult form to coil-build and not have it crack in drying or firing. The piece has three chambers that are hollow and connected.  There are also twisted handles that are slipped red. Amazingly, the entire piece is fully designed! There are four medallions on each end and two in the center. There are a Mimbres-inspired lizard, butterfly, rabbit, deer, birds, and traditional geometric patterns. Each is delicately painted onto the surface. Separating them are thin lines and lightning patterns.  It is amazing in person!  It is signed on the bottom, “Rebecca Lucario”.  It is in very good condition with no chips, cracks, restoration, or repair.
