Adelphia Martinez was a daughter of noted San Ildefonso potter Juanita Gonzales. This bowl is coil-built, stone-polished, and fired red. The top of the bowl is etched with an avanyu (water serpent) encircling the piece.   There are clouds around the rim of the bowl.  Near the base is an inset piece of turquoise.  It is signed on the bottom “Adelphia”.  It is in very good condition with no chips, cracks, restoration or repair.
