Adelphia Martinez is a daughter of noted San Ildefonso potter Juanita Gonzales. This canteen is made in a classic style with a rounded front and a flat back.  The entire piece is fully polished and fired red.  There is a leather strap made which extends through the handles and attaches to the stopper. The piece is signed on the back, “Adelphia”.  It is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, restoration, or repair.
