Adelphia Martinez was a daughter of noted San Ildefonso potter Juanita Gonzales. This small water jar is coil-built, polished and fired red. The jar is etched with an avanyu (water serpent) encircling the piece. It was traditionally fired. It is signed on the bottom “Adelphia”. It is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, restoration or repair.
