Beverly Martinez (1960-91) was a granddaughter of Santana & Adam Martinez and a great-granddaughter of Maria Martinez. She was a sister of Marvin Martinez and Johnny Cruz. Her pottery was highly polished and tightly painted. Beverly was featured in the 1974 “7 Families in Pueblo Pottery” exhibition. This small water jar has a round body and a sloping neck. It is fully polished and painted with a classic feather. It was fired to a silvery, gunmetal coloration. It is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, restoration or repair. It is signed on the bottom in the clay, “Beverly”.
