Lucy Martinez was known for her traditional style of San Ildefonso pottery.  This jar is stone-polished and painted above the shoulder with a feather and rain design.  Typically she would make the pottery and it would be polished by her husband, Richard. The jar is in very good condition with no chips, cracks, restoration or repair.  It is signed on the bottom in the clay, “Lucy M.”.
