This is a classic bowl by Maria Martinez. It was made by Maria Martinez and painted by her daughter-in-law, Santana Martinez (the wife of Adam Martinez, Maria’s son). The bowl is fully polished, including the base. It is painted with a sun and cloud design. It is a creative and somewhat unusual design for Santana. The bowl was fired to a silvery black coloration (nearly gunmetal).  The piece is signed, “Maria + Santana” on the bottom.   The bowl is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, restoration, or repair.
