This small feather plate is by Maria Martinez.   It was made and polished by Maria Martinez and painted by her daughter-in-law Santana.  The plate is painted with a classic feather pattern.  There is a striking symmetry to the design of the feathers on the piece.  The surface is highly polished and fired to a deep black appearance.  The plate is signed on the back, “Marie + Santana”.  It is in very good condition with no chips, cracks, restoration, or repair.
