This is a detailed seedpot by Grace Medicine Flower.  It is from 1985.  It is fully polished and on the top is a buffalo etched into the clay.  The buffalo is realistic in design and surrounded by plants and agave.  Above the buffalo are cloud and thunder designs.  The buffalo is highlighted with white clay and the grass with green.  The use of additional colors at this time in her work was a very brief period but created visually striking pieces.  Near the base of the seedpot are additional cloud designs.  Interestingly, Grace would always etch her pottery before it was fired.  It is an elegant jar in both form and design.  The piece is signed on the bottom in the clay, “Grace Medicine Flower”. It is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks restoration or repair.
