Medina, Marcellus – Jar with Deer Dancer and Gahn Dancer (1988)
Marcellus Medina is known for his contemporary painted pottery. The jar is made by his wife, Elizabeth Medina. Marcellus has painted on the surface with acrylic. The jar has a very realistic Deer Dancer on one side and an Apache Gahn Dancer on the other. Separating them are cloud and rain designs. The contrast of the colorful designs on the white background is striking. The jar is signed on the bottom, ” Marcellus Medina, E. Medina”. It is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, restoration, or repair.
