Rochelle Jewel Medlock (b. 2005) is the daughter of noted potter Autumn Borts-Medlock. The piece is coil-built from native clay, carved, polished, and traditionally fired. The melon bowl has four polished ribs, and they are each separated by two matte ribs. It is a visually striking combination. The polished ribs are also twice the size of the two matte ones. The bowl was fired to a red and tan coloration. It is signed, “Rochelle Jewel”. It is exciting to see her continue a legacy of clay!
