Joshua Namingha is a son of noted potters Les and Jocelyn Namingha. This jar is from 2013, when he was 11 years old. The jar is coil-built and painted with various clay slips. The design is a classic Nampeyo-style hummingbird. The red and brown clay areas are stone polished. The jar was traditionally fired. It is a charming piece. It is signed on the bottom in the clay, “Joshua”. It is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, restoration, or repair.
