Namingha, Les – Bowl with Two Sikyatki Hummingbirds (2012)

5"w x 3.75"h

$ 1,200.00

This bowl by Les Namingha is a traditional piece of his work from 2012.  It is coil-built from Hopi clay painted with bee-weed and natural clay slips, and traditionally fired.  The bowl has a classic Sikyatki style hummingbird (or more likely a hummingbird moth) on each side.  They are each highlighted with two different colors of clay. Separating them are large triangular designs.  The bowl has blushes from the traditional firing.  It is signed, “Les Namingha” and note the polished swirl on the base, which is how he signed his early work.  The bowl is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, restoration or repair.
