Namingha, Les – Clay Bear Fetish with Turquoise

4" long

$ 400.00

This clay bear by Les Namingha is one of his few animal pieces.  Les comes from an ancestry of both Zuni Pueblo and Hopi-Tewa.  This bear is inspired by the stone bear fetishes from Zuni.  This piece is made from clay and textured to have the look of stone.  It has inlaid turquoise eyes and a turquoise medicine bundle on the back.  The bear is a symbol of strength in Zuni culture. The piece is signed on the foot, “LN”.
