Les Namingha has, over the years, creatively changed his pottery with new painting and technical styles. This jar has a round shoulder and an elongated neck. It is part of his “Rachel Series”, where pieces are a tribute his grandmother Rachel Namingha (1930-1985). This jar is reminiscent of her classic shape, as the the angular bird wings around the side. The top of the jar is painted with circles and the sides with geometrics. The piece is colorful and brings a modern sense to historic shapes and designs. The jar is signed on the bottom, “Les Namingha”.
