Namingha, Les – “Winter Skies” Jar
6.5"w x 4"h
This is a boldly painted wide shoulder jar by Les Namingha. The shape is a classic Hopi-Tewa form with a wide shape and sloping top. The jar is painted with geometric clouds and bird designs on the top with a white background. It is meant to represent the clouds with birds flying and the colors of the sun on the winter clouds and birds in the sky. Note the migration clouds in the background. The bottom has a spiraling flower, waiting for renewal in spring. The jar is signed on the bottom, “Les Namingha”.
