Lillian Namingha is a sister of noted potters Dextra Quotskuyva and Priscilla Nampeyo. She is also a descendant of Nampeyo of Hano and the mother of Les Namingha. This bowl is made from traditional Hopi clay. It has a complex and modernist lightning design. It is painted with bee-weed and red clay slips. Even the interior is fully polished! The bowl was traditionally fired creating blushes on the surface. The bowl is signed on the bottom, “L. Namingha” and corn for Corn Clan. It is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, restoration, or repair.
