$ 375.00

Ellsworth Polacca Nampeyo was a son of noted potter Fannie Nampeyo and a grandson of Nampeyo of Hano. He was a brother of Elva Nampeyo, Leah Nampeyo, Tonita Nampeyo, Harold Polacca, Thomas Polacca, and Iris Nampeyo. He began making pottery in the late 1970s and continued through the 1980s. This bowl is fully polished red.  It is designed with turtles on each side, separated by more deeply carved feathers.  It is signed on the bottom in the clay, “Ellsworth Polacca Nampeyo”.  It is in very good condition with no chips, cracks, restoration, or repair.  He was not very prolific, so we do not see a lot of his pieces of pottery come back to the gallery.
