James Garcia Nampeyo is a son of Leah Garcia Nampeyo, a grandson of Fannie Nampeyo, and a great-grandson of Nampeyo of Hano.  This is a  small bowl with a narrow base and round top. The top is slipped with red clay.  Around the sides are the classic eagle tail design extending downwards.  The black is bee-weed (a plant).  The bowl was traditionally fired to give it the coloration with some slight blushes.  It is signed on the bottom, “J. G. Nampeyo”.  It is in very good condition with no chips, cracks, restoration or repair.
