Nampeyo, Loren Hamilton – Jar Longhair Katsina and Sun Katsina

4"w x 4"h

$ 400.00

Loren Hamilton is a son of noted potter Tonita Nampeyo and a grandson of Fannie Nampeyo.  This jar is coil-built, carved, painted with native clays, and traditionally fired.  The jar has a Pueblo scene with a Longhair Katsina in the sky above.  As the piece is turned, the is a Sun Katsina as the rising sun.  Finally, there are geometric designs with lighting and rain patterns.  The remainder is fully polished tan (the natural color of the clay).  The jar was traditionally fired and it is signed on the bottom in the clay, “Loren H Nampeyo”.  It is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, restoration or repair.
