$ 150.00

Nyla Sahmie Nampeyo is a daughter of Priscilla Nampeyo and a sister of Bonnie Nampeyo, Rachel Sahmie, Randy Sahmie, Jean Sahmie, and Andrew Sahmie.  She is a great-great-granddaughter of Annie Healing and a great-great-great-granddaughter of Nampeyo of Hano.  This small jar is coil-built and painted with bee weed and highlighted with a red clay slip.  The design is a classic migration pattern with 14 bird wings.  There are seven above the shoulder and seven below.  The rim has a seed design.  It is a complex, fully designed piece.  It was traditionally fired and so it has blushes across the surface.  It is signed on the bottom “Nyla” and a corn plant for Corn Clan.  It is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, restoration, or repair.
