$ 200.00

Priscilla Namingha Nampeyo was a great-granddaughter of Nampeyo of Hano and granddaughter of Annie Healing,  She was also a sister of  Dextra Quotskuyva Nampeyo. Priscilla was the matriarch of a family of renowned potters, including Rachel, Bonnie, Nyla, and Jean Sahmie.  Priscilla began making pottery when she was only seven years old, under the guidance of Nampeyo of Hano. This bowl is coil-bulit and thin-walled.  It is one of the few we have had by her made from red Hopi clay.  It is painted with bird wings encircling the bowl. They are outlined in white.  The bowl was traditionally fired, so there are slight blushes on the surface.  Priscilla was known for her traditional designs along with the tightly painted designs.  It is signed on the bottom “Priscilla Namingha”.  It is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, restoration, or repair.
