Nampeyo, Priscilla Namingha – Pair Miniature Bowls with Migration and Tassel Designs (1970s)

These are two small bowl by Priscilla Namingha Nampeyo.  She was a great-granddaughter of Nampeyo of Hano and granddaughter of Annie Healing.  She was also a sister of Dextra Quotskuyva Nampeyo. Priscilla was the matriarch of a family of renowned potters, including Rachel, Bonnie, Nyla, and Jean Sahmie.  Priscilla began making pottery when she was only seven years old, under the guidance of Nampeyo of Hano. One bowl has a migration pattern.  The second is wider and has tassel and rain design.  Both are traditionally fired, and both are in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, restoration, or repair.  One is signed on the bottom, “P Namingha Nampeyo” and the other, “P. Namingha”.
