Dolly Naranjo is a daughter of Rose Naranjo and the mother of Jody Naranjo and Elijah Naranjo. This bowl is coil-built and thin-walled. It is polished above the shoulder and matte below. There are twelve etched turtles encircling the bowl. Below them is a wave design. The bowl was fired a brown coloration. The jar is signed, “Dolly Naranjo” on the bottom. It is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, restoration, or repair.

Dolly Naranjo (b.1947) is a daughter or Rose Naranjo and a sister of artists Jody Folwell, Michael Naranjo, Nora Naranjo-Morse and Rina Swentzell. She is the mother of noted potters Jody Naranjo and Eli Naranjo. Dolly creates coil built pieces with incised designs and a firing technique that leaves them brownish in color.
