Naranjo, Dominguita Sisneros – Bowl with Incised Potsuwi’i Designs and Polished Interior (1970s)

7"w x 3.5"h

$ 350.00

Dominguita Sisneros Naranjo is a daughter of noted Ohkay Owingeh potter Tomasita Montoya and a sister of Rosita de Herrera. This bowl is coil built and the rim and base are fully polished red. The central panel is incised with rain designs in horizontal and angular lines.  They are incised into two rows of squares.  After they were incised into the clay, the incised areas were slipped with mica. The bowl is also unusual as the interior is also fully polished tan!  It is signed on the bottom in the clay, “Dominguita Sisneros”.  It is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, restoration, or repair.
