Naranjo, Dusty (b. 1968)
Dusty Naranjo is a daughter of noted potter Bernice Naranjo and a sister of Caroline Elliot.
This is a very complex oval bowl by Dusty Naranjo. The piece is coil-built and fully polished. It was fired a brown coloration. The bowl is fully etched. There are four petroglyph figures. Two of them are meant to be in the Night sky. There are two that are two below that are meant to appear to be on a canyon wall. There are designs in the sky and on the wall. Not only is the shape creative and it is highly polished, but the design is complex and fills the entire surface of the piece! It is signed, “Dusty” on the bottom.
