Florence Naranjo was a daughter of noted potters Rosalie & Joe Aguilar and a granddaughter of Susana Aguilar.  Her brother, Alfred Aguilar, is also a well-known potter at San Ildefonso Pueblo.  This is one of her classic black-on-black pieces.  It is highly polished jar with cloud designs around the neck and 36 painted feathers.  They are very tightly painted for the size of the jar.  It is signed on the bottom, “Florence Naranjo”.  It is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, restoration, or repair.
