Naranjo, Forrest – 8″ Tall “Genesis of the Deer” Jar

4"w x 8.75"h

$ 800.00

Forrest Naranjo is a son of Bernice Naranjo, the brother of Dusty Naranjo, and the father of Johnathan Naranjo.  This jar is coil-built and stone polished.  The piece was fired a glassy brown coloration.  The design on the jar starts at the bottom of the piece.  There is a flute player and a Deer Dancer.  As the jar is turned, the Deer Dancer separates into the hunter and the deer.  Then there is a deer as a petroglyph design, and other flute player, and finally a fawn and the Sun “genesis”.  The designs are intricate and fluid. The rim of the jar is matte in contrast to the polished surfaces.  The coloration from the firing and the creative designs are exceptional on this piece!  The jar is signed on the bottom, “Forrest Naranjo”. It is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, restoration, or repair.
