Louis and Virginia Naranjo were the parents of noted potter Mary Trujillo.  They were known for their storyteller figures and especially Louis’s bears.  This is one of their classic storytellers.  It is very tight in form and patined with wild spinach (black) and red clay.  The figure has four children. N Ote the precision of the painting on the dresses, shirts, and sleeves.  It is signed on the bottom, “Louis and Virginia Naranjo”.  It is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, restoration, or repair.  Definitely a classic of their storyteller style.
