Madeline Naranjo creates beautifully carved and polished pottery.  Each piece is pinch-built, stone polished and traditionally fired.  This is a large jar and deeply carved.  There are four figures carved into the clay.  Two of the women are holding water jars on their heads.  The other two women are holding jars. Separating each of the women are rain clouds extending down from the neck and pottery vessels in the center.  The jar is very deeply carved and highly polished.  Madeline’s matte areas are sanded and perfectly smooth so that there are no indentations or areas where the matte might make a shadow.  Her designs are always innovative and beautifully executed.  The jar is signed on the bottom, “Madeline E. Naranjo”.
