Madeline Naranjo creates beautifully carved and polished pottery.  Each piece is pinch-built, carved, stone polished, and traditionally fired.  This bowl is oval in shape. It is carved with two bears on each side. Behind them are mountains, and trees separate them.  I always like how Madeline’s pottery tells a story in clay.  The carved areas are highly polished.  Her matte areas are sanded and perfectly smooth so that there are no indentations or areas where the matte might make a shadow.  Her designs are always innovative and beautifully executed.  The bowl is signed on the bottom, “Madeline Naranjo”.
