Reycita Naranjo was a daughter of noted potter Pablita Chavarria. This is one of the largest pieces of her work we have seen. It is very much in the style of her sisters Elizabeth Naranjo or Mary Singer. The jar is coil-built, carved, stone polished, and outdoor fired. The jar has a feather pattern carved along the neck. The body of the jar has rounded clouds and an avanyu encircling the piece. The jar is evenly carved and fired a deep back with areas that are nearly sliver in coloration (from the heat of the fire). The jar is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, restoration, or repair. It is signed, “Reycita Naranjo”. Definitely a classic!
