Rose Naranjo is the matriarch of one of the amazing families at Santa Clara Pueblo.  Descendants range from Roxanne Swentzell, Jody Folwell, Susan Folwell, Johnathan Naranjo, Rose Simpson, Nora Naranjo-Morse, and many others!  It is not often that we come across her pottery. This seedpot is from the early 1980s.  It is fully polished and fired brown.  The sides are etched with two birds with flowers.  The top has another flower etched around the opening of the seedpot.  It is an intricate piece for the size.  The piece is signed on the bottom, “Rose Naranjo”.   It is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, restoration, or repair.  It is a unique piece by this influential matriarch.
