Dawn Navasie (b. 1961) is a daughter of Eunice “Fawn” Navasie and a sister Fawn “Little Fawn” and Dolly Navasie.  This jar is coil built and stone polished. The jar has a low shoulder and sloping sides with two handles.  The jar is painted with bee-weed (black) and clay slips.  There are classic Hopi-Tewa birds on each side.  Around the neck are cloud and feather designs and additional bird motifs on the handles.  The lid is plain but fully polished.  The jar and the lid were both traditionally fired to create the blushes on the surface.   It is signed on the bottom, “Dawn Navasie”.   It is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, restoration, or repair.
