Dolly Joe Navasie is best known by her name White Swann.  She is the daughter of Eunice “Fawn” Navasie and a sister of Dawn and Fawn Navasie.  This large open bowl is coil-built and painted with bee-weed (black). The bowl is thin walled and painted on the inside. There is a small rim.  The design has two Awatovi parrots.  They are each tightly painted and highlighted with a deep red clay.   The bowl was traditionally fired to create the blushes.  It is signed on the bottom, “White Swann”.   It is in very good condition with no chips, cracks, restoration or repair.
