Fawn Garcia Navasie (b. 1959) is also known as “Little Fawn”.  She is a daughter of Eunice “Fawn” Navasie and a sister of Dawn and Dolly Navasie.  This large jar is coil-built and stone polished. The jar has a wide, round shoulder and a short neck.  It is painted with bee-weed (black) and highlighted with polished red areas.  The design is a series of eight red-tail hawk designs alternating with eight hummingbird tails.  It is a classic in complex design.  The jar was traditionally fired so there are blushes on the surface.  It is signed on the bottom, “Little Fawn”, which is how she signed her pieces when her mother, Eunice “Fawn” Navasie (1920-1992) was alive.  It is in very good condition with no chips, cracks, restoration, or repair.
