Fawn Garcia Navasie (b. 1959) is also known as “Little Fawn”. She is a daughter of Eunice “Fawn” Navasie and a sister of Dawn and Dolly Navasie. This jar is coil-built and stone polished. The jar has a high shoulder and an elongated neck with a turned-out rim. The jar is painted with four hummingbirds and the hummingbird tails extend over the shoulder. It is painted with bee-weed (black) and red clay. The jar was traditionally fired to create the blushes on the surface. It is signed on the bottom, “Fawn” and a deer track, which is how she signed her pieces after her mother, Eunice “Fawn” Navasie (1920-1992) passed away. It is in very good condition with no chips, cracks, restoration, or repair.
