7.5"w x 5"h

$ 375.00

Grace Navasie is a daughter of noted potter Joy “Frogwoman” Navasie.  She began making pottery around 1980 and she would make the vessels and Joy would often paint the designs.  This is a classic jar with a sharp shoulder and a short neck.  Below the shoulder, the jar is painted in panels Sikyatki birds and bird wing designs.  Around the top of the shoulder are rain, plant, and bird tail designs.  The jar is painted with bee-weed (black) and red clay slip which is polished in areas.  It was traditionally fired.  The jar is in very good condition with no chips, cracks, restoration, or repair.  It is signed on the bottom in the clay with the Frog Hallmark and a “G” for Grace.
